Soulful Messiah - Ballet Creole
Soulfully danced to Quincy Jones’ Grammy Award-winning R&B rendition of Handel’s Messiah, this universal holiday tradition will leave you singing “Hallelujah!” throughout the festive season! Eve Egoyan “Returnings” music by Ann Southam

Eve Egoyan will perform works recorded on her new CD Returnings, world première recordings of music for solo piano by Ann Southam. The performance will include three Toronto premières including the world première of Returnings II: A Meditation. Along with Simple Lines of Enquiry, this disc represents the complete works for solo piano that Ann wrote with Eve in mind. Friday, December 02, 2011. 8pm. From the melodic pen of Francis Poulenc come two one-act works of stunning theatrical contrast. La voix humaine (The Human Voice) portrays the heart wrenching grief of a woman’s final farewell to her lover while Les mamelles de Tirésias (The Breasts of Tirésias) brilliantly satirizes feminism, fertility drugs, and “family values.” A pre-performance opera chat will be given 30 minutes prior to each performance in room 130. Daniel Okulitch, bass-baritone
Daniel Okulitch has received critical acclaim for his portrayal of title roles Figaro and Don Giovanni and for creating the title role in the world premiere of Howard Shore's The Fly with the Los Angeles Opera. His most recent recording, The New American Art Song, is just the latest chapter in an impressive career of adventure and top flight artistry.
