Hello lovelies, thanks for stopping by today. I've been expanding my horizons and have published an article in Panoram Italia Magazine. It's a profile on Bruno Billio, a sculptor and designer who is the current artist in residence at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto. I had a great time interviewing Bruno in his surreal work/living space at the hotel. Spending time with people who so fully live and breathe their art is truly an amazing thing.

I love it when fresh images of iconic artists make the gallery rounds. When it comes to the Velvet Underground, the Factory and anything Warhol, I am always interested. It's too bad the exhibit, All Tomorrow’s Parties - Andy Warhol, la Factory e i Velvet Underground is opening in Bologna, Italy, because I would have loved to view the more than 80 pictures shot by internationally renowned photographers, like David McCabe, in person.

Warhol was a close friend and collaborator with the Velvet Underground, and there is something so fabulously vivid about way the musicians and artists of the period were captured on film. Here are some pictures from the show, in case you don't have a flight booked to Europe for the holidays.

Last weekend was Nuit Blanche, and I wanted to share some of the amazing, interesting and provocative art that I saw. I pretty much stayed on Queen St. West. The best art I saw was the giant balloon Ring Leader who watched over the entrance of the Drake Hotel, and the Clowns and Burlesque dancers entertaining guests at the Gladstone Hotel. Walking Art

I absolutely love visiting art galleries, and when I travel I make a point of exploring the artistic treasures hidden in local collections. On the days when my passport is not in hand, and the Canadian winter has snowed me in, I can now visit my favourite pieces of art almost anywhere in the world thanks to the Google Art Project.

Google Art Project is a culturati version of Google Street View. You can navigate your way through archways and over hard wood floors rather than over asphalt and concrete. Step into the MoMa, The National Gallery, The Uffizi and many more of the world's top galleries and take a lasting look at the gorgeous high definition photographs of each piece. You can also create a personal artwork collection featuring your favouries. It's a lazy traveller's dream.

Music often inspires art, but rarely do musical containers inspire artists to greatness. Jennie C. Jones brings the beauty of cassette tapes, Sony Walkmans, and CD jewel cases to the world of Modern art. She creates drawings and collages focusing on the delicate lines and angles of hard plastic casing. In her words:

"My practice is both a comment on and a continuum of the conceptual ideology of jazz, an honoring of the deep radical legacy of its experimentation, of hybrid modernist forms, of wit, of riff - the turning of a phrase onto itself."
