What do Meghan Markle and Tosca have in common?

As we watched Meghan Markle walk down the aisle on Saturday in her chic Givenchy gown and gloriously expansive veil, my eye was perpetually drawn to her fresh brown eyes and impeccably refined and elegant updo.

The updo, adorned by that beautiful diamond bandeau tiara, was reminiscent of another woman who, like the adored Markle, is one of the most fascinating and favoured figures of the opera stage: la Tosca.

When I think of Tosca, the red velvet gown, tiara and updo version created by Zeffirelli immediately comes to mind. For all the production past and present that have taken Tosca into new directorial worlds, the classic, opera singing heroine will always remain intact in my mind as a chic, fearless and crafty diva.

Let’s take a look back at some of the most Markle inspired Toscas the internet has to offer.
